Dear Ambassador Schieffer,
We, at the Tokyo Rape Crisis Center, express our resentment and protest against the rape committed by a US Marine in Okinawa.
Rape is a dreadful crime which denies women's human rights and dignity, sometimes even our future. The trauma that the victim girl has to suffer is undoubtedly immeasurable, and we demand that the US government would impose severe and stiff penalty on the offender and offer a sincere apology and compensation for the victim. Furthermore, we urge you to take the preventive measures in order to stop such violence against women and to educate the US military members focusing on rape and victims.

東京･強姦救援センターは、沖縄における海兵隊員の少女強姦事件に対し、憤りをもって抗議します。
強姦は、女性の権利と尊厳を、ときには未来をも奪い去る卑劣な犯罪行為です。少女が受けた被害は、とうてい計り知れないものです。
東京･強姦救援センターは、米国政府が加害者を厳しく処罰し､被害者に対し謝罪と賠償をすること求めます。また、女性に対する暴力をなくすための予防策を講じ、すべての米軍に強姦と被害者に焦点を当てた教育の実施を要請します｡
